"I love HIIT workouts and am new to rowing and this was the best of both worlds. Beautiful space and super helpful coach. They truly have options for everyone. ++ skierg and 'berg' (bike erg) to work other muscles. No rowing experience required."
— Morgan Martin
"I attended the Tuesday evening class, it was a great workout! The space is beautiful and Bryn is an awesome teacher! She spent time with each person in the class to give tips and answer questions. She is very thorough and explains proper form/aspects of rowing so that it is easy to understand for beginners like myself. Highly recommend taking a class here!"
— Jen K
"This was my first time on a row machine, but Bryn was amazing! She helped me get my form down and gave really good feedback throughout the session. Once my form was good, we were just rowing and chatting it up - super casual and chill."

All without...
Being treated like just another number
Getting hurt due to an irresponsible trainer
Trainers who promise the world and forget your name by session two
Gyms where it's easier to skip than to show up
Hey — I'm Bryn. I've coached rowing for over 20 years, and I built The Crew for women like you.
And I want to ask you something...
Have you ever been in a gym where trainers didn't really care about you as in, they didn't know your name, your progress let alone your sessions timing?
Have you ever tried a gym that pushed you too hard, didn't watch your form, and brushed it off when something went wrong?
Have you ever looked in the mirror and not recognized yourself — and felt that you are so far from your best self?
You didn't fail at fitness. Fitness failed you.
Between the gym that didn't care, the class that got you hurt, and the trainer who lied — you did what any smart person would do. You stopped trusting gyms.
But somewhere in the middle of protecting yourself, you started making excuses you know aren't true.
"I don't have time." We all have the same 24 hours, it's a question of priority.
"That's just how my body is now." You used not to be like that, so it's a question of do I really want to change it or settle for it.
"Fitness just isn't for me." It is. You just haven't found the right place.
Excuses make us feel safer not better.
What if fitness could feel like something you GET to do — instead of something you HAVE to do?

The Crew is a small rowing-based studio where every session is coached, every class has 10 women max, and your coaches have over 20 combined years of experience.
Here's what makes rowing different from anything you've tried:
Every stroke works your legs, core, back, and arms — all at once. It burns more than running. It's easier on your joints than walking. And because the movement is controlled by YOU on the machine, there's virtually zero chance of injury.
HIIT
45 min. Max-effort sprints + floor work. High energy.
Power
45 min. Long rows, heavy weights, lower reps.
Intervals
45 min. Rowing intervals. Endurance + speed.
Steady State
60 min. Zone 2. Calm, controlled, great for beginners.
Music playing. Coaches that call you by your name. Women next to you grinding through the same set. You leave feeling accomplished — not confused about whether you did anything useful.
Stop making excuses you know are lies. Click below and commit to changing your life.
"Very enjoyable workout, I'll be back for sure if anything 6:30pm classes could be helpful for those who work in town and need time to get out of it but besides that wonderful class and I really loved the commitment Bryn has to make this a wonderful experience the encouragement from both her and Steph to keep going made me want to strive to do better!"
— Izabelle Andrade
"I attended the movie and row and it was so much fun to get in some steady state!! Beautiful, inclusive space run by the amazing Bryn!! Heavily recommend to anyone interested in getting those meters in 💪💪"
— Gwen Brown
"I attended the intervals class which was a great work out! Bryn was very helpful as it was my second time rowing. She's very experienced and seems to have been doing this for many years. Highly recommend!"

"I've been attending classes at the Crew pretty much weekly since they opened in fall 2024. Bryn (studio owner) is great. Friendly and really passionate about rowing/fitness. The other instructors on staff (shout out to Steph & Gwen!) that I've had are also super friendly, quite knowledgeable, and have a good amount of experience with rowing. If rowing seems intimidating you, this is the studio to visit! There's a lot of focus on making sure you're comfortable on the rowers and helping with proper form. There's also a variety of different types of rowing classes to keep things interesting and they're not all entirely on the rower. The HIIT class for example has some periods on the rower and some periods off the rower. They also have stationary bikes and a Ski erg if that's your jam. The studio is convenient to Malden center and the building has free parking. It's on the top floor of the building and is bright and clean. They provide clean towels for sweaty persons like myself (honestly these are the fluffiest towels I've experienced in a Boston area fitness studio), have a water cooler for filling your bottle, and there are miscellany drinks for purchase. Come and check them out! I'm super stoked they're here in Malden!"
